  In the current competitive market all companies need to measure there return on investment. Not surprisingly, with all the emphasis on investing in people, businesses do increasingly need to measure the value of a training programme or consultancy initiative.

"Measuring behaviour is as practical as herding jellyfish"

At PPL&D we have learnt a lot about jellyfish and we work hard with our customers to define the outcomes that a project or programme must deliver. In fact we build our programmes expressly to deliver sustainable change in line with these outcomes. This generates our first set of agreed measures by which to determine the success of our interventions and determines the client's ROI.

Outcome measurement alone is not enough however, as any number of extraneous external (to the intervention) factors may influence those high levels outcomes. For this reason we additionally offer to conduct our Behavioural Probability CascadeTM. This breaks down an outcome or result into its constituent parts and then break it down further into the skills, behaviours and tools required of those staff responsible for delivering each component of the solution.

This cascading data trail allows us to monitor progress and predict results before they occur. In the event that results are outside of our expected tolerances we anticipate an extraneous input and, if required, can seek to evaluate what other outside influence has contributed to the deviation. In summary we consider measurement a key issue and believe that the most important aspect of measurement is to agree exactly what to measure and how, before a programme is designed. *Behavioural Probability CascadeTM is a requirement if partners wish to take advantage of our Risk/Reward payment terms
